THE ECH AUXILIARY

OUR MISSION

The Elizabethtown Community Hospital Auxiliary is dedicated to continue support for the Elizabethtown Community Hospital, its staff and patients.

OVER 50 YEARS OF SERVICE

In 1946, a group of 47 local women joined together to form the first and still active Auxiliary for Elizabethtown Community Hospital which opened in 1926. Their mission was to help keep the hospital in operation.

Today, the ECH Auxiliary continues its support of the Hospital. Over the past 50 years, the Auxiliary has raised tens of thousands of dollars to benefit the Hospital. This support has touched nearly every patient and staff member who has been at Elizabethtown Community Hospital.

HOW WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Volunteering

Many Auxiliary members dedicate some of their time and skills to the Hospital through volunteering. This includes operating the switchboard, visiting with patients, assisting them with letter writing, working on special projects and so much more.

Fundraisers

Each year, the Auxiliary organizes at least three major fundraising events which include raffles, bulb sales and the Dinner@8 fundraiser.

Proceeds from these events are used to purchase equipment to assist patients and staff; to support capital projects; to purchase plants to beautify hospital grounds; and to sponsor health clinics and screening programs.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

The more community members who join the Auxiliary, the more members there will be to assist in projects and the more we as a community can support the Hospital.

The Auxiliary holds regularly scheduled meetings the first Wednesday of each month. Dues are $5 per year. Members can participate in one and/or all projects that are undertaken.

If you would like to become a member of the Elizabethtown Community Hospital Auxiliary or would like more information on volunteering, please call 962-4049 or 873-3003.
