For over 75 years, Elizabethtown Community Hospital has been dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of the community it serves. When you make a gift to the Hospital you are investing in the health and wellbeing of your community. Donations are used for renovations and new pieces of equipment to help the Hospital continue to provide a warm and friendly environment for its patients. Your gift can help tremendously in achieving the highest standards of healthcare.
As a not-for-profit hospital, all gifts are tax deductible and all dollars earned are invested into the hospital for facility improvements.

Gifts in memory of a special family member or friend are often made to the hospital. A letter is sent to the family of this special person notifying them of your generosity. When sending in a memorial gift, please include, your name and address, who the gift is in memory of and the name and address of who you would like to be notified of your gift (the amount will not be stated).
One way to honor a special friend or family member is to make a gift to the hospital in their honor. The honoree will be notified of your generosity. When sending in an honor gift, please include, your name and address, who the gift is in honor of and the name and address of who you would like to be notified of your gift (the amount will not be stated).
Many organizations have a matching gifts program for their employees who make charitable donations. This is an easy way to double or even triple your donation, depending on your company's policy. Ask your company if they have a matching gifts program and how you can take advantage of increasing the impact of your gift.
The Elizabethtown Community Hospital Auxiliary is dedicated to continue support for the Elizabethtown Community Hospital, its staff and patients.
Over 50 Years of Service
In 1946, a group of 47 local women joined together to form the first and still active Auxiliary for Elizabethtown Community Hospital which opened in 1926. Their mission was to help keep the hospital in operation.
Today, the ECH Auxiliary continues its support of the hospital. Over the past 50 years, the Auxiliary has raised tens of thousands of dollars to benefit the hospital. This support has touched nearly every patient and staff member who has been at Elizabethtown Community Hospital.
How it Makes a Difference
Many auxiliary members dedicate some of their time and skills to the hospital through volunteering. This includes operating the switchboard, visiting with patients, assisting them with letter writing, working on special projects and so much more.
Each year, the Auxiliary organizes at least three major fundraising events which include raffles, pie sales and the Dinner@8 fundraiser.
Proceeds from these events are used to purchase equipment to assist patients and staff; to support capital projects; to purchase plants to beautify hospital grounds; and to sponsor health clinics and screening programs.
You Can Make a Difference
The more community members who join the auxiliary, the more members there will be to assist in projects and the more we as a community can support the hospital.
The Auxiliary holds regularly scheduled meetings the first Wednesday of each month. Members can participate in one and/or all projects that are undertaken.
If you would like to become a member of the Elizabethtown Community Hospital Auxiliary or would like more information on volunteering, please call 518.962.4049 or 518.873.3003.

Volunteers at Elizabethtown Community Hospital compliment the services of the Hospital by performing a variety of assignments in a number of departments.
Volunteer opportunities range from answering phones, filing and shredding to visiting with patients and helping the nursing staff. Volunteers may also choose to be part of the auxiliary and work on special projects and fundraisers throughout the year to benefit the hospital.
In 2010, ECH volunteers and auxiliary members gave a total of over 3,000 hours of service to our hospital.
Being a good volunteer requires a willingness to make a commitment of time. You need to be reliable and responsible, trustworthy and willing to maintain confidentiality. You must be interested in what you are doing and most importantly, you should enjoy being involved, helping others and being appreciated for your efforts.
